Communication standards in the OSI model refer to the set of rules and protocols that define how different devices communicate with each other over a network. These standards ensure that devices from different manufacturers can work together seamlessly by defining the format and structure of data packets, the methods for error detection and correction, and the rules for establishing and terminating connections. By adhering to these standards, devices can communicate effectively regardless of their underlying hardware or software differences, promoting interoperability and compatibility in network communication. **

The OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) layer model is a conceptual framework that standardizes the functions of a telecommunication or computing system into seven distinct layers. Each layer is responsible for a specific set of tasks, such as data transmission, error detection, and network routing. The model allows for interoperability between different systems and devices by providing a clear and standardized way for them to communicate with each other. It is a fundamental concept in networking and is used as a reference for understanding and designing network architectures. **

Global communication is not possible at layer 2 of the OSI model because layer 2, the data link layer, is responsible for the physical transmission of data within a local network. It deals with the addressing of devices on the same network and the delivery of data frames within that network. It does not have the capability to route data between different networks or across the internet, which is necessary for global communication. For global communication to occur, it requires the functionality provided by layer 3 (network layer) and above, which handle the routing and addressing of data across different networks. **

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) operates on the Application layer of the OSI model. This layer is responsible for providing network services directly to user applications, such as email clients. SMTP is used to send and receive email messages over a network, making it a crucial protocol for communication over the internet. **

The OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model is a conceptual framework that standardizes the functions of a telecommunication or computing system into seven distinct layers. It is designed to help different computer systems communicate with each other over a network by providing a clear and consistent set of rules and guidelines. Each layer of the OSI model has specific functions and protocols that enable data to be transmitted and received between devices, ensuring interoperability and seamless communication across different hardware and software platforms. In essence, the OSI model is used to facilitate the exchange of data between different systems and to ensure that communication is reliable, efficient, and secure. **

OSI layer 8, also known as the political layer, refers to the human interactions and policies that can impact network operations. A problem at OSI layer 8 could involve issues such as conflicting interests between different departments or stakeholders within an organization, lack of communication or coordination between teams, or resistance to change or adoption of new technologies due to political reasons. These types of problems can hinder the smooth functioning of the network and overall IT operations. **

The OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model is a conceptual framework that standardizes the functions of a telecommunication or computing system into seven distinct layers. These layers, from bottom to top, are: Physical, Data Link, Network, Transport, Session, Presentation, and Application. Each layer has specific functions and interacts with adjacent layers to facilitate communication between different devices on a network. The OSI model helps in understanding how data is transmitted over a network and serves as a reference point for network troubleshooting and design. **

The OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model is a conceptual framework used to understand how different networking protocols and technologies interact with each other. It consists of seven layers, each with its own specific functions and responsibilities. The model helps to standardize and organize the different aspects of network communication, making it easier to understand and troubleshoot network issues. Overall, the OSI model provides a structured approach to understanding and implementing network communication. **
